My Sorta Mini "Sophie's Choice" Moment

I'm always thankful for the fact that I'm not a single parent. Some days even more than others...like today, for example.

At about 3 pm I was living the good life...youngest one down for a nap...still had about 40 minutes until the oldest two got home on the bus...emails answered, work caught up, dishes done, laundry going, house relatively straight...

Then...BAM...I get a call from my oldest daughter's teacher. She's sort of talking around the fact that the Princess REALLY had to go to the bathroom...the #2 kind of going to the bathroom...and basically hung out in there trying to go and totally missed her bus home!

Now, on the one hand, I'm REALLY pleased with the fact that they didn't force her on the bus, because we ALL know that a kid will NEVER, EVER live down the fact that she pooped her pants on the school bus. Like...Senior year in high school, people will still be writing about it in your yearbook kind of never living it down. So, I don't have a problem with the fact that she missed the bus. What I DO however have a problem with is that they waited to call me until 3pm! She missed the bus at 2:30, people. I have another child that will arrive on the bus at home at the same time that they are telling me that the Princess needs to be picked up by!

So...what to do, what to do?!? It's a good 40 minutes round trip with traffic...the neighbor isn't answering the phone, the in-laws are out of town...so, the only thing I COULD do was call my dear husband IN A PANIC!

Thankfully he's a mostly chill-mode sort of a guy with a flexible work environment, so he was out of the office in a flash to trek the 30 minutes home...so everything worked out fine.

Which makes me SO. VERY. THANKFUL. that I have a wonderful husband to be there to help me figure these things out...God has truly blessed me.
